Adventurous food
A real log cabin with a real menu! Chef Luka Košir’s dishes are a real adventure! The pork from the nearby pig farm is glazed with a sweet and sour house syrup made of home-grown elderflower, which gives the meat such a crispy edge that the fat beneath it is like dessert! And when wild pheasant with partridge and lamb baked in straw are also available, it’s a tough choice, since there is also ox meat that has been dry-aged for a long time and then slow cooked at 55˚c – whilst other cooks, in this time, would have fattened a young calf and then gone to bed! At Gostišče Grič there’s always something melting or something being turned into powder, as well as flavours to remember and a memorable experience too. Luka creates food that melts in the mouth using traditional local ingredients from the family barn, the nearby gorge, neighbouring farms, the Škofja Loka hills, surrounding forests and the family allotment and greenhouse.
Recommendation
The best log cabin in Slovenia’s hills! The best restaurant with paper serviettes in Slovenia! The most promising young Slovenian chef! The best Scandinavian food from Slovenian ingredients!
