A terrace with the most expansive view of the sea

The location is excellent, in the middle of an olive tree plantation with 1,300 olive trees, Hotel Cliff has undergone a stylish refurbishment, the terrace extends across the Slovenian part of the Adriatic Sea, and the team has a full wine showcase and an experienced seafood chef.

Of course, with its terrace, which has the most expansive view of the Slovenian Adriatic Sea, Restavracija Kamin features seafood plates with sea bass carpaccio as well as shellfish in scampi sauce, however, it’s not just a seafood restaurant; after Istrian prosciutto with home-grown olives and truffles from the neighbour, there’s grilled octopus and baked catch of the day.

With an abundance of coastal nostalgia and the Istria hinterlands, together with an experienced chef, there’s enough space on Hotel Cliff’s coastal terrace for sauteed foie gras, duck prosciutto on fermented vegetables and gnocchi with calves tail as well as for couples who like socialising over Restaurant Kamin’s accompanying wines, scampi risotto, and braised venison shank with struklji and a Refosk wine reduction.

Recommendation

Quote

Restaurant Kamin isn’t just for hotel guests who don’t fancy going out of the hotel, because of its beautiful terrace, but also for non-residents, for whom the Belvedere is both close enough, because it is right next to the sea road, and far enough away, because there is a nice view of Izola, and Portorož is just over the hill. Since the hotel’s abundance includes seasonal food and chef’s specials, Restavracija Kamin is also for more demanding gourmets, who don’t just ‘eat’ the view.
