Perfectly situated on the other side of the lake

The view of Lake Bohinj extends over meadows and fields. When the church is still shrouded in early morning mist, the hotel’s guests are already on their balconies admiring the far-reaching views – from the Julian Alps to the Karavanke mountains. And when the lake is still in silence, guests can discover the ‘Tastes of Bohinj’ from surrounding farms. When it is ‘buzzing’ around the lake, the terrace at Restavracija Triglav is an oasis of calm where you can enjoy a four-course lunch, with wine pairing from a well-stocked wine shop with an acknowledged sommelier. And when the hikers, cyclists, day trippers and holidaymakers have a tiring day behind them, Restavracija Triglav is just beginning to light its torches and candles.

Chef elevates traditional dishes with careful attention on the quality of the ingredients – locally sourced, whilst searching for different flavours, but traditional using the chef’s expertise. The owner Damir Salkič adds into the mix many years of experience in the hospitality industry and sommelier knowledge. Therefore, it is just right that among the beauties of nature in this tourist spot, tourists don’t go hungry for culinary marvels, that the locals are not tired of menus aimed (just) at tourists, and that the Bohinj area is also interesting outside the tourist season.

Recommendation

Quote

Because there are too many people and too few fine restaurants in Bled, those in the Bohinj area are all the better, including that at Hotel Triglav, which has dared to swap the better-known lake for something even more beautiful! We recommend a full day trip to Bohinj – also known as a cycling paradise!
