After a day full of adrenaline in the Soča valley, guests from all over the world head for restaurants of the tourist town of Kobarid, where, right at its heart, is hotel Hvala and its ‘seafood’ terrace on the pavement of the main street. The history of Restavracija Topli val dates back to when it was once famous as the best Slovenian continental fish restaurant. Following some rather troubled years of business, the restaurant is back in family hands – young ones – who are aware that quality ingredients only need two things – maximum space on the table and a minimal chef’s ego. The seafood is really fresh and they don’t over complicate the food – to be sure, try the oysters and mixed steamed seafood for yourself!
Topli val is a restaurant for lovers of seafood. Those who, even in this valley surrounded by mountains, can’t live without buzara-style fish dishes as well as those who would usually only order uncooked cockles, crab and the like on seafront promenades. Restavracija Topli val has good connections at the coast, skilled hands in the kitchen, and a communicative host on the terrace.
