Is Bogenšperk the most beautiful and most well-preserved Renaissance castle in Slovenia? The famous Slovenian natural historian and polymath Janez Vajkard Valvasor knew the answer!

Why are there no longer any taverns in Slovenia? Because there is only one Bogenšperk Castle! Therefore, the Krčma tavern on the castle isn’t just a tavern but rather a pleasant trip to the castle, which rewards visitors with a great lunch too. Of course, guests are already satisfied with castle-style food at tavern prices. But it’s not coincidence that there’s such a long queue for ice-cream, that four menus have seven courses, and that you can end with a visit to the wine cellar.
