Kekec paradise
God’s path leads to the spring of the clear daughter of the mountains. After that, there is a small bridge and the end of the asphalt. Then you walk off the road across the meadow and, if you don’t get lost, you will reach paradise. Lam barks at the small pool with sun loungers on the wooden edge. Then Kekec greets you and Mojca also comes from the kitchen to the threshold of the wooden cottage that you have already seen in your favorite Slovenian film. Only now that you are there, everything is true.

3 hearts
In such a heavenly environment, evaluation is no longer 100% objective… But that’s exactly the essence of Kekec three hearts! It’s such a heavenly break that you don’t judge salty plum dumplings or Kobarid štruklji with polenta, but just enjoy them! Everything here is only the best!
Greetings from the kitchen: a ball of albumen cottage cheese from Tolmin, rolled in herbs from the garden, drizzled with honey.
Trenta
The mountains surround the meadow where the Kekeč homestead has set up its four wooden cottages, which, fortunately, are not crowded in paradise, and only have room for a maximum of 25 people.

Bread bites
Bread, with truffle pate and pickled black walnuts, and with dried tomatoes, olives, parmesan and olive oil (all finely chopped and pickled in oil for a few months).
Dinner
Kekec (Mitja Lo Duca) learned to cook when his mother had had enough and left her son alone at Kekec’s homestead with three ministers… and Mojca (Joži Kuclar) learned to cook when she became the first Slovenian woman to sail around the world.

Ducal
Styrian wine accompaniment in Trenta: Aperitif, Sontia rose sparkling wine, savory dumpling and žlikrofi: Rozle, Rose Rose 2023, veal cheek: Laški Riesling Amfora 2018.
Table
The bench is hard, the table is rough, and the napkin is simple, but there is no view as comfortable as this anywhere else.

Dumpling
Savory dumpling: choux pastry, filled with plums, grated smoked ricotta, sage fried in butter.
Disconnection
The sequel to the trilogy Good Luck, Kekec! follows if you have booked in time, because there is not much space in this Kekec paradise, because it is not visible from the road, because peace is guaranteed, because they cook good food from under the mountains on an open fire, and they offer you Styrian wine with a coastal flavor.

Žlikrofi
Idrija žlikrofi with chanterelles, brown butter and chives. For 20 years, six ladies from Idrija have been coming every spring and making 1,200 žlikrofi in one day.
Room
Outside is the view, inside are the memories.

Cheeks
Veal cheek, potato soufflé, sautéed carrots. Because we were so active during the day, there’s no need to wash the plates in the evening…
Fire
In the evening, guests warm themselves around the fire and share a bottle of Riesling from an amphora buried in a cellar on the Slovenian side of Ciringa in Styria.

Porcini mushrooms
When Kekec goes into the forest alone in the afternoon, he doesn’t say where or where he’s going, but he returns with a full basket.
Dining room
You are invited to Kekec and Mojca table!

Ice cream
Elderberry sorbet and pickled rhubarb with raspberries. Fig ice cream and pickled fig.
Good luck, Kekec
Good luck, Kekec!, a 1963 Slovenian youth film directed by Jože Gale. It was filmed – at the Kekec homestead – based on the mountain tale Kekec on the Wolf’s Trail, the second of Vandot’s three tales about Kekec.

Štruklji
A pastry filled with polenta, raisins soaked in rum, vanilla and cinnamon, and cinnamon butter.
Sleep
Good night! The main house, which used to be a stable, has rooms upstairs, a wine cellar downstairs, and a seminar room on the ground floor. The one not far away has the most beautiful apartment for two in Julijci!

Breakfast
Breakfast on thick wooden benches behind the house, smelling of Karst bacon from under the egg yolks.
Swimming pool
Lam barks at the small pool with deckchairs on the wooden edge. The water flows from the steepest rock behind the house, four climbing walls high, to which the owner carried 25 cubic meters of concrete years ago because “I was just getting ready for a mountain expedition.” We will count sheep in these deckchairs in the afternoon.

Goulash
Wild boar goulash and polenta, to which butter, olive oil and parmesan were added for extra allure.
Pie
After the goulash, for a good night’s sleep after an active day among the peaks, try homemade apple pie.
