Fried chicken
The best fried chicken in the world!

Salad
Gostilna Pri Lipi is known for its fried chicken, but its regular guests are convinced that there is no better salad (and strudel) anywhere! The menu says ‘assembled salad’, but each guest assembles it ‘themselves’ by listing their wishes. Meadow dandelion, local radicchio, farm cabbage, shelled beans
Strudel
Plum, cherry, apple, blueberry (with curd cheese), apricot, sour cherry.

Stara lipa
Family inn with a large and old linden tree in front of the entrance.
Beef soup
Beef soup with liver and semolina dumplings, carrots.

Vegetable soup
Even though you try to count how many different types of vegetables, fresh from the garden and the market, are in the soup or on the spoon, you can’t, because it doesn’t depend on the freezer, but on the season.
Pumpkin soup
Pumpkin soup, topped with pumpkin seed oil and pumpkin seeds.

Buckwheat porridge
Buckwheat porridge with porcini mushrooms. A simple (Slovenian) dish, but rarely is it so simply good.
Bratwurst with sauerkraut
Homemade bratwurst, sauerkraut with crispy cracklings and baked beans.

Prime rib with onion
Veal false fillet, mashed potatoes and onion sauce.
Pork roast
Pork fillet, meat sauce, mashed potato.

Roasted potatoes
This is it – real roasted potatoes! Because roasted potatoes are only ‘beautiful’ in your mouth! That’s where you taste whether they’re made from real potatoes, cooked just right, peeled just right and sliced just right, whether the onion has glazed just right, whether the potatoes have been roasted at the right temperature and for just right time, whether the potatoes are just right salty, just right warm and (also) just right ‘cooked’.
Roasted chicken
At Lipa they don’t have a modern convection oven, but an old, classic one, still on gas. The roasted chicken hopes they’ll never replace it.

Curd cheese gibanica
Prleška gibanica with curd cheese. Lipa’s desserts also include pancakes, which are always freshly baked and can be spread with jam, chocolate, cranberries or walnuts, Pohorje omelette, which, of course, is with cranberries and serves at least for two people and strudels.
