Wirtshaus
Wirtshaus (krčma) ni gostilna (Gasthaus) – v Avstriji je wirtshaus kultura! Ponudba je kot v gostilni preprosto dobra, toda, ker je to gostilna s krčmarjem/krčmarko, z družinsko tradicijo, domačo gostoljubnostjo in tradicionalnim ambientom, je v wirtshausu preprosto vse boljše.
Ker je to kultura, ki jo cenijo gostje in spoštujejo gostilničarji (krčmarji), se wirtshausu v Avstriji ohranjajo. To pa hkrati pomeni, da so vedno boljši, kajti prehajajo iz generacije v generacijo. Vsaka prispeva tej kulturi svoje. Zaradi tega pod isto streho v Avstriji uspešno sobiva preprosto in vrhunsko: na enem koncu hiše je wirtshaus, na drugem pa vrhunska (gourmet) restavracija, vmes pa je le en chef-krčmar. Na ta način se tradicionalne jedi ne postarajo, temveč posodabljajo, avtorske jedi pa niso le vrhunske, temveč tudi razumljive.
Nova generacija
Sattlerhof je za to najboljši dokaz. Oče, krčmar in chef Hannes Sattler je poslal sina in hči v svet, ko sta se vrnila z novim znanjem, pa jima je prepustil Satlerjevino – Markus je chef (tudi v wirtshausu), Anna pa (tudi) krčmarka.
Simple
Wirtshaus offers what we all love… The menu – 4 courses – changes weekly and depending on the availability of ingredients and the needs of (hotel) guests, but the constant are traditional Austrian and local dishes, which also change – seasonally.
Good
Lamb Leberkäse, apple chutney, mustard caviar, toasted sourdough bread with pumpkin seeds.
Seasonal
Baked pumpkin, pickled pumpkin, pumpkin cream, pickled chanterelles, sheep’s cheese cream and quince. Everything made from pumpkin, traditional, local and seasonal flavors, modernly complemented and chef-perfected. Since their permanent offer includes classics, the seasonal addition can be more original.
Abundant
Ribeye, chanterelles in cream sauce, bread dumplings.
Austrian
Fried Fledermaus and parsley potatoes with butter. The best pork steak is not the fillet, but the Fledermaus, which is also from the loin, from the upper part of the inner thigh, a very juicy and tender part, richly covered with fat, as big as the palm of your hand and shaped like a bat.

Apple strudel, vanilla ice cream, whipped cream.
