What do you desire?

This is exactly what I desire! A view that extends from the sea to the mountains where one falls in love among the hospitable hilltop vineyards in the heart of Brda. An excursion on which you can take in the mighty surrounding walls of the medieval village, even though you might get lost in the labyrinth of stone footpaths of Šmartno. And a house that has a sign above the door of grandma Marica, who used to spoil children with homemade delights. If you’re lucky, try to get the table in the corner with the best view of the large prosciutto, which has been hanging for 51 months in the bora winds.

Hiša Marica is the best proof that tastes don’t differ. Here you desire exactly what you are offered! Therefore, only the oldest and fattest hand-carved Brda prosciutto carved on a walnut board, only a charcoal grill and on it only the thickest pieces of meat, only a menu featuring dishes made based on grandma’s recipes and chef’s daily menu, and only a house full of happy, joyful and satiated guests.

The only wine are house wines, but among the bottles there are also some vintage years and magnums that cannot be found elsewhere. And whilst the house wines are still, the sparkling wines come from the whole of the Brda area as well as from the Champagne wine region. While prosciutto is the main accompaniment, don’t be surprised to also find pancetta, salami and mortadella alongside. And, although there’s a lot of meat, bravely ask what else there is.
