On the other side of the lake
It could be argued that Restavracija 1906 in Hotel Triglav, which boasts a favourable location above Lake Bled together with hospitable and professional service, has the best view of all of Slovenian’s restaurants. While the kitchen team changes from time-to-time, everyone at this green boutique hotel on the other side of the lake is carrying on the tradition from 1906 when the first train brought tourists to Bled and also successfully continuing the culinary story of Gorenjska Slovenian nouvelle cuisine.
In the evening the mixture of guests for dinner is a 50/50 mix of hotel guests and non-residents who gather in small groups – thankfully with no overbearing voices and telephones – to savour the view and delights such as terrine of prosciutto from the new terrace above the lake.

Restavracija 1906 in Hotel Triglav in Bled is the best reason to not only visit Slovenia’s most famous lake for Original Bled cream cake but instead ‘swim over’ to the other, more boutique side!
