Šajna is a beautifully restored Karst homestead with high walls, an entrance portal and a courtyard where everything happens.


Dining room
The dining room is elegantly set and full of antiques and homeliness.
Greeting
Šajna’s greetings from the kitchen: curd cheese, rocket, fried onions, balsamic cream, tomato slice, toasted bread.


Karst prosciutto
Karst prosciutto. Of course, you can’t do without it in the Karst, but here it’s also from a neighbor – the largest Slovenian prosciutto factory, Karst, Šepulje. The slices are large and thin, the color is ruby red, the smell is seductive, the salty-sweet taste melts on the tongue. All you need to add is black olives and a slice of pickled red onion.
Deer carpaccio
Deer carpaccio, arugula, parmesan, pomegranate, dates, sweet chips.


Homemade spaghetti
Homemade spaghetti with clams.

Homemade noodles with summer black truffles.


Scampi
Scampi alla buzara (tomato sauce).
Karst-style steak
Steak with prosciutto in Teran sauce, štruklji with herbs.


Kifeleti
Kifelets are fried potato rolls that are a must in the Karst.
Salad
Radicchio salad with beans. A Primorje-style salad that you mix yourself, young green radicchio, which is so slightly bitter that it is pleasant, and beans, which are a must.


Seasonal strudel
Apricot strudel. Šajna always has strudel, but it’s always seasonal.
Štruklji
Walnut štruklji made from yeast dough. These are also a Šajna classic, so you need to think about them when ordering, as they require quite a bit of space.
