A sparkling bistro alongside a border river

The small terrace is hidden into a hillside, the small wine bar is hidden away from the curious, and the small street is hidden away behind the Mura River, but RG Bistro, which strives to be sustainable, local and modern makes no secret of its ambitions to invite guests for breakfast featuring crackling, at noon for a bistro lunch with a sparkling smile, in the afternoon for cold cuts featuring the neighbour’s spicy cheese, and in the evening for socialising over the chef’s tasting menu.

It’s no wonder that friendly social gathering by the windows with views across the river are so sparkling – thanks to the Radgona sparkling wine, so joyous – thanks to the joints of meat – and so sizzling – thanks to the flambéed pancakes.

Those who go to RG Bistro for sparkling wines that aren’t available elsewhere, and where there are so many glasses from a single wine cellar, can enjoy buckwheat flatbread, beef salad and horseradish like in the ‘old’ days. Those who go for company can share dried meats as if they are on a farm. Those who go for steak will get steak that it looks like in the photo. Those who go during work time, can opt for a ‘quick’ goulash. Those who drive there, can drink alcohol-free ”wine”. Those who only want pasta, can eat organic pasta. Those who want a pie will come again. And those who go on the hoof won’t be disappointed.
