Homestead
Under the arches of the old homestead, you can see that there is a manor house next door, because even in it, among the tall roses and long tables, among the warm colors and cool top wines, we feel that way. Under the impression of the wonderful view, on the large covered terrace or in the garden above the amphitheater of vines, we feel like we are on vacation.

Greetings
The greeting is beautiful (in design, modern) and good (quality ingredients and variety). A slice of smoked duck breast, homemade pâté, cheese spread with herbs, carrot roll, toasted whole-grain homemade toast.
Beef soup
Beef soup with noodles. In Slovenia, it is customary to have soup for the weekend in soup bowls, and not just one. Marof sticks to this, as they have nice soup bowls.

Kohlrabi soup
Kohlrabi cream soup with cauliflower florets.
Fried pork fillet
Fried pork fillet stuffed with porcini mushrooms and onions, in a cornbread crust, dödoli, glazed vegetables.

Dödoli
However, it’s not just steak. There are also dödoli. Although fried steak only needs salad and ‘colorful’ vegetables, according to the old Slovenian custom, dödoli are an addition that you couldn’t have been to Prekmurje without.
Deer and pheasant
Deer roulade stuffed with bacon and vegetables, stewed pear in red wine with cranberry jam. Fried pheasant breast in pumpkin breadcrumbs. Roasted celeriac puree, steamed winter vegetables (celeriac and carrots). A game platter that combines two dishes, both venison, two opposites (stewing and frying), but mandatory in a classic Sunday lunch, and various side dishes, all of which are seasonal.

Strudel
Homemade strudel: apple, poppy seed and curd.
Chestnut mousse
Chestnut mousse in a glass. Chestnuts love cream, custard, red fruits, nuts and a long spoon. It’s not only delicious, it’s also so autumnal that it’s really good.

Prekmurska gibanica
A must-try dessert in Prekmurje.
