A noble story in the middle of Brda

In a superbly renovated manor house, whose ruins have been transformed into a gem of a story, Gredič has the entire Slovenian and Italian Brda in its lap, with rooms for the most pampered and a wine cellar for the most demanding visitors. The restaurant therefore needs to meet the mark, so places an emphasis on local and seasonal food with accompanying wines.

Gredič is an ideal place to spend a weekend in Brda and Collio, first for a photo with the famous manor house, then for a glass of the finest wine and Brda bleki pasta with wild boar, or pea lokal ragout (toč) with white polenta. It’s a place to visit the famous wine neighbours on this and the other side of the border, for an aperitif at the bottom of the circular staircase, for the longest table in the fullest wine cellar, for a late dinner and an even later breakfast, as well as for special guests and special occasions. In short, it’s a restaurant to visit on a day trip or somernost to spend the night.

Recommendation

Quote

Day visitors to Gredič are rewarded by the view, the vineyard and homemade gnocchi, as well as blue crab or capon if desired, while those visiting in the evening can opt for the seasonal tasting menu and chef’s take on numerous favourites such as Beef Wellington, Rossini, Soča trout, Adriatic squid, ratatouille, parmigiana, as well as enough options to be able to select from the full wine cellar.
