Food to accompany the best Slovenian wines
A noble story in the middle of Brdo
Guests are enjoying the sunshine on the terrace in the middle of the vineyard, the smell of cigars wafts from the smoking room and the finest Brdo wines are laid out on the long table in the wine cellar. In the restaurant a well-known Slovenian vintner is hosting American wine afficionados, at the next table a group of German speaking guests are savouring the house grissini and crispy crackers, whilst jovial Italians are dipping fried oysters in mayonnaise.
Rebula wine comes in elegant bottles and is served in super-thin stemmed glasses, the pastel blue cushioned chairs are wide and comfortable, the table linen reaches to the floor, and the butter is served in white porcelain dishes. At the far end of the vineyard, Chef David Bucik and his ambitious team create daring shapes, tantalising flavours and the flavours of Brdo and the ocean. A noble story in the middle of Brdo!
Restavracija Gredic is an ideal place to stay overnight after eating or for a weekend in Brdo, a visit to famous vintners on both this and the other side of the border, and an aperitif at the bottom of the winding staircase. See the longest table around and the cellar crammed with wines, then enjoy a late dinner or an even later breakfast – ideal for special guests and special occasions.
